Job summary

Rutgers University is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic- Housing for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations. This role supports the Housing division with skilled maintenance, inventory control, and inspections to ensure safe operations across university facilities.

The position is full-time in New Brunswick and requires a high school or vocational education with two years of maintenance experience, plus a valid driver’s license and completion of Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.

Qualifications

• High school/vocational education or its equivalent plus two years of general maintenance experience, which includes carpentry, plumbing, electricity and mechanics.
• Valid driver's license and two years of driving experience.
• Will be required to successfully complete the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.

Responsibilities

• Provides a wide range of experienced maintenance services in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment under the responsibility of Housing.
• Responsible for maintaining an inventory and submitting supply requests.
• Inspects buildings and reports needs or unusual conditions to supervisor.
