Job summary

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to complete inspections for properties on the Housing Choice Voucher Program. This is accomplished by processing Request for Tenancy Forms, scheduling unit inspections, performing on-site inspections, entering inspection information via iPad, preparing inspection records, analyzing units for rent reasonable data and ensuring inspections are completed within required time frames. Other duties include maintaining clearance logs, entering inspection and program information, updating tenant files, compiling reports and logs, maintaining vehicles and supplies, and ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

Will be expected to complete requirements necessary to obtain a Housing Quality Standard Certification.

Pre-employment keyboarding test (typing speed) with a minimum score of (35).

• 1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
• 2 M Conducts inspections at various locations in Wichita County to include both single family and multi-family residential structures by inspecting both the exterior and interior conditions to ensure the housing unit meet Housing Quality Control Standards.
• 3 S Schedules and completes housing inspections using an iPad, confirms dates and times for inspections, sends letters, writes reports and submit and retain various documentation.
• 4 S Completes clerical tasks by maintaining reports and logs and inspections, uploading reports and pictures from iPad, vehicles and equipment, creating and mailing letters for inspection, compiling notices for failed units or complaints, maintaining supply inventory as required for inspections.
• 5 L Works with the public by providing program information, providing inspection guidelines, and meeting with owners and tenants to conduct inspections.
