Job summary

St. Catherine’s Center for Children in Albany, NY is seeking an Employment and Stabilization Specialist to help families transition from homelessness to stable housing.

You will work with residents, Case Management, and external partners to secure housing, assist with income and benefit applications, and support practical needs such as moving and utilities. Role requires a driver’s license, flexible hours, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• BS W or Bachelor’s Degree in human service field.
• Associate’s degree with five or more years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree.
• Clean and valid New York State Driver’s License (active for at least one year) required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.
• Knowledge of community resources is beneficial.
• Experience in a human services agency is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; secure Internet practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct Housing Search & Navigation: identify and help secure permanent housing.
• Income & Benefits Support: assist with SSI/SSD applications and financial planning.
• Logistical Support: coordinate move‑in dates, utilities, furniture donations.
• Client Support & Engagement: build professional relationships and assist with casework activities.
