Job summary

St. Catherine’s Center for Children seeks an Employment & Stabilization Specialist to support families in shelter, focusing on housing and income stability. You will partner with Case Management to identify housing, assist with applications, and navigate benefits to reduce barriers to tenancy and work.

The role emphasizes employment readiness, landlord outreach, and coordination with CE/SPOA. A NYS driver’s license and flexible hours are required; experience in human services is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSW or Bachelors in human services required.
• Clean NYS drivers license required (actively licensed at least 1 year).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends.
• Knowledge of community resources is beneficial.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct Housing Search & Navigation with families to secure housing.
• Assist with applications, credit and background checks, and documentation gathering.
• Landlord advocacy and outreach to secure housing options.
• Coordinate with CE/SPOA and Case Management for referrals.
• Employment readiness support including resume building and interview coaching.
