Position Duties
The Housing Coordinator (HC) is an full time live-in professional staff member reporting directly to an Associate Director of Housing Operations and responsible for guiding and supporting students through the housing process, as well as being a high-level user of the university housing software, StareRez. The HC will supervise Residence Life and Housing office assistants during the year, and Resident Assistants during the summer months.
Essential Functions
Housing Operations leadership and support
- Oversee the contract extension and early arrival process.
- Meet with students to support room changes.
- Manage all key processes (including audits, rekey, and lost key requests).
- Supervise and mentor summer student staff and office workers, ensuring efficient housing operations during peak times and providing training and feedback.
- Collaborate with the Student Integrity Office by adjudicating low-level conduct hearings to housing (i.e.., Conduct referral as a result of failing inspections, etc.) and ensuring students' behavioral and housing needs are met appropriately.
- Manage the Housing Operations external web pages and departmental social media needs.
- Process facilities billing for damages and vandalism on a monthly basis
- Manage customer service initiatives (including tracking interactions and reviewing best practices)
- Assist with housing operations-related data tracking and updating reports
- Investigate incident reports and take appropriate actions, which include adjudicating low-level conferences related to damages, vandalism, failing inspections etc. with the Office of Student Integrity and Restorative Justice Practices.
Department Operations
- Under the direction of the housing operations team, support housing operations processes, hall openings and closings, and report facilities/hall concerns.
- Actively respond to student emergency contact(s) / family calls and outreach.
- Participate in selection, training and mentorship of student staff for student success
- Provide budget management for staff development, team building, and the execution of summer hall programming.
- Actively participate in the after-hours on-call rotation.
- Complete accurate and timely administrative reports and paperwork.
- Support committee work
Supervise office assistants and summer RAs through regularly scheduled staff meetings, one-on-one meetings, and additional/ongoing training for student staff, as needed.
Provide leadership during times of crisis and emergencies
- HCs are Essential Staff when the campus is experiencing a crisis or other emergency that may require an in-person response. Housing Coordinators serve on call and may have to respond to all areas of campus. They may have to use stairs, elevators or ramps to access buildings. While on call, they need to be able to respond to campus issues in approximately 20-30 minutes.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Position Weekly Schedule
This position promotes student success inside and outside of the classroom through consistent face time with students to get to know them and provide personal, social, academic, and professional support or referral. The HC's hours are designed to optimize visibility during the day in the halls.
37.5 - hour work week Monday through Friday. Most hours are within the standard 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.. However, HCs are also asked to work a few hours in the evening and/or weekend to ensure presence with residential students, varied availability, and support housing operations needs and campus events.

Describe Required Experience
A minimum of one year of professional experience in student affairs or greater than one year as a Resident Advisor (or equivalent). Some experience with responding to and providing support to students in crisis.

Strong written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving skills, ability to work collaboratively with others, and the ability to motivate others and build cohesive teams. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of constituents. Ability to support the University's goals for institutional diversity, as well as the goals and values of a Catholic, Jesuit education. Ability to work autonomously and interdependently as needed.
