Job summary

LinQ Global Group seeks a Temporary Housing Code Policy Manager to identify and implement building code changes aimed at reducing housing construction costs and enabling affordable housing development.

The role focuses on researching state and local building codes, developing policy recommendations, coordinating with government agencies and stakeholders, and preparing code-change proposals for submission to BBRS and briefing the EOHLC Secretary.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local or state building codes and regulatory processes.
  • Experience researching and analyzing building codes and policy impacts.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research and analysis of state and local building codes.
  • Support the Single Stair Technical Advisory Group and help develop recommendations.
  • Research and prepare proposed changes to make 6–8 story buildings more feasible.
  • Develop code changes that support small multifamily housing, such as triple-deckers.
  • Conduct cost assessments and evaluate the impact of proposed code changes.
  • Draft policy recommendations, reports, briefs, and presentation materials.
  • Prepare briefing materials for the EOHLC Secretary.
  • Work with external stakeholders and government agencies to gather information and feedback.
  • Draft building code amendments for submission to the BBRS.
  • Provide additional research and policy support related to building code development.
