Job summary

Opportunity Council in Bellingham, WA, is hiring Housing Case Managers and four bilingual specialists to serve homeless or at-risk households. The roles focus on client-driven case management, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing, with home visits, intakes, and service coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, plus six months related experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Case management experience in social services preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency if applying for bilingual position.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license and five-year driving history per Opportunity Council policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct case management services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
• Conduct intakes and assessments.
• Maintain confidential case notes for each client.
• Develop and maintain relationships with other agencies and service providers.
• Serve as a link between clients and community resources.
• Provide reporting and tracking information for data systems.
• Determine client eligibility for housing services.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, agency, and funder guidelines.
• Assist in program development work.
