Job summary

San Francisco AIDS Foundation is seeking a Subsidy Coordinator to support housing stabilization for about 75 rental assistance participants. You will collaborate with clients, landlords, and medical case managers to calculate benefits, coordinate payments, and provide social support.

The role emphasizes HIV care linkage, advocacy, and housing stability. The position is based at 940 Howard Street in San Francisco and requires strong English communication, HIPAA-compliant practices, and empathy

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social work or four years social work, client services or intake experience required.
Housing and Financial Benefits experience and HQS Inspection certification preferred.
Ability to work with clients with HIV, homelessness, poverty, trauma, incarceration, and/or substance use.
Competency in written and oral English language.
HIPAA compliance and professional standards for record-keeping.

Responsibilities

Assist program participant’s housing search and retention; consult with landlords and case conferences with medical case managers.
Calculate and document monthly rental assistance, generate monthly expense payment requests, and draft changes to participants and parties.
Provide counseling and support in housing, HIV prevention, treatment advocacy, and social services; educate on Tenant and Landlord rights.
Facilitate access to benefits and medical care; enroll or refer for ADAP as necessary.
Visit clients for re-certifications, wellness checks, and travel to meet clients in homes or facilities.
