Carnegie Mellon University is seeking an Assignments Coordinator in the Housing Services and Housing Operations team. This role interacts with students and families to manage housing assignments, changes, and related processes.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years in higher education; Masters preferred. Evening/weekend availability and attention to detail are essential for coordinating room selection, waitlists, and Greek housing activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience in higher education.
• Housing/Residence Life experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of communication for assignments and application questions from students and parents by phone, email, walk-ins, and appointments.
• Assist with day-to-day assignments inquiries, housing applications, changes, and exception requests.
• Coordinate Room Change Waitlist and swap processes.
• Support Room Selection events for returning residents, including planning, messaging, trainings, and staffing.
• Supervise a student team of Room Selection Assistants, including hiring and scheduling.
• Assist First-Year Assignments for new students, including move-in letters for August.
• Oversee Greek Housing assignments and Greek Housing applications.
• Assist Summer/Winter/Spring housing applications and assignments, including billing and rates information.
• Primary user of StarRez with data integrity, documentation, and portal management.
• Provide front desk coverage and access/key support as needed.
