Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking a dependable Houseperson / Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team in New York. This dual-role position supports housekeeping by cleaning public areas and assisting guests, while also performing general maintenance across the property.

The ideal candidate will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members, with responsibilities spanning guest services, building upkeep, and event-space setup.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel housekeeping, maintenance, facilities, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, hallways, meeting spaces, restrooms, elevators, and exterior entrances.
• Respond promptly to guest requests for amenities, supplies, and special services.
• Deliver linens, towels, rollaway beds, cribs, and other guest items.
• Assist room attendants with linen removal and replenishment.
• Set up and break down meeting rooms and event spaces as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the property.
• Assist with snow removal, grounds upkeep, and seasonal property maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry issues.
• Complete preventative maintenance assignments according to established schedules.
• Respond to maintenance service requests in a timely manner.
• Conduct daily property inspections to identify and correct safety hazards.
• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
• Assist with emergency situations and after-hours property needs when required.
