Job summary

The Hotel Hershey is seeking a Full-Time Housekeeping Team Member to maintain pristine guest areas across the hotel and Villas. You will perform daily cleaning, stock amenities, and ensure safety in line with OSHA standards, with emphasis on guest comfort and service.

Responsibilities include cleaning sundecks, carpets, elevators, restrooms, and transporting trash; you may move furniture and assist with minor repairs. 18+ with a valid driver’s license required, union seniority governs shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• This position requires successful completion and passing of the post-offer employment physical exam.
• This is a union position and shifts follow union seniority; evening and weekend hours are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily routine cleaning in guest areas at The Hotel Hershey and Villas.
• Clean sundecks and porches, carpets, and floors; vacuum and shampoo as needed.
• Clean elevators and restrooms; collect trash and stock closets with linens and amenities.
• Deliver and remove cots, cribs, or other guest needs; move furniture as required.
• Operate cleaning equipment and follow OSHA standards for chemical use.
• Perform minor repairs and assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Responsible for performing daily routine cleaning in guest areas at The Hotel Hershey and The Villas at the Hotel Hershey.

Cleaning sundecks and porches.

Vacuuming and shampooing carpets and corridors.

Scrubbing and waxing floors.

Cleaning elevators and restrooms.

Collecting trash.

Stocking closets including linens and room amenity supplies

Delivering and removing cots, cribs, or other special guest needs.

Cleaning air vents/ lights in out-of-reach areas.

Making minor repairs.

Moving furniture.

• Transporting items around property as needed.

Performing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Professional guest service attitude, well-groomed, professional appearance, and self-confidence.

Self-motivated and capable of working alone.

Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Ability to understand and communicate instructions, both written and verbal.

Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment; carpet shampoo machine, floor scrubber, vacuum cleaner, high-pressure power washer, etc.

Must have the visual ability to meet our very high cleaning standards.

Job Demands:

Proper footwear to be provided by employee.

Considerable walking and pushing/ pulling of heavy carts involved.

Ability to safely use chemicals in and around the workplace meeting OSHA standards.

Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

Ability to operate a vehicle to transport trash to designated areas on property.

Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, handling, stooping, reaching, lifting and repetitive motions.

This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
