Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is hiring a Catering Houseperson to support event setup and hospitality services. You will prepare rooms and events per BEO details, assist guests, and coordinate with supervisors to ensure smooth banquet operations.

Applicants should be able to lift heavy equipment and work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Prior banquet setup experience is preferred at hotels or convention centers.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to carry large and heavy banquet equipment.
• One year of experience as a Banquet Set-up Person at a hotel or convention center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set rooms and events according to the BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions.
• Handle guest requests in a friendly manner; request assistance when needed from Set-up Supervisor or Banquet Manager.
• Ensure storage rooms are clean, organized and secure.
• Ensure unused rooms are clean and clear.
• Maintain equipment through cleaning and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Set rooms and events according to the BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions.
• Handle guest requests in a friendly manner; as necessary, request the assistance of the Set-up Supervisor or Banquet Manager.
• Ensure all storage rooms are clean, organized and secure.
• Ensure that all unused rooms are clean and clear.
• Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment.

Requirements

• Requires candidates with a flexible schedule in order to work banquet events at a variety of hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Candidate must have the ability to carry large and heavy banquet equipment.
• Would prefer one year of experience as a Banquet Set-up Person at a hotel or convention center.
