Job summary

POST OAK LODGE OF OKLAHOMA LLC in Tulsa is seeking a Houseman to support events by setting up and tearing down indoor and outdoor spaces and maintaining banquet areas. This frontline role covers furniture, AV equipment, and supplies for on-site and occasional off-site catering.

The work includes cleaning rooms, restocking materials, assisting servers, and coordinating with kitchens and housekeeping to ensure smooth event service and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Six months events/banquet experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow simple instructions and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and tear-down of indoor and outdoor rooms for events as specified.
  • Clean banquet rooms and public spaces before, during, and after events.
  • Assist banquet servers and kitchen staff with service, replenishment, and break-down.
  • Move equipment, furniture, and AV gear safely and store properly.
  • Ensure clean, organized work areas and report damages to management.

Position: Houseman

Reports To: Banquet Manager, Front Office Manager, and/or Executive Housekeeper

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: Functions as a frontline employee providing set-up, tear-down, and cleaning of indoor and outdoor banquet rooms and public spaces. Includes all lodges, outdoor rooms, structures, outbuildings, and auxiliary activities.

Houseman Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set-up and tear-down of indoor and outdoor rooms and occasional off-site catering, including but not limited to, tables, chairs, furniture, AV equipment, outdoor games, bonfires, small tents, and other equipment needed for events.
  • Keep service corridors, pre-function space and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed.
  • Clean indoor and outdoor banquet rooms after events, including but not limited to, straightening chairs, clearing the dirty dishes and glassware from tables, changing soiled table linen, vacuuming the floor, emptying trash, and restocking materials such as pads and pens.
  • Keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized, and unobstructed.
  • Set events per specifications on BEO or as given by management. Clean windows, walls, and vacuum the floors before events and as needed during events.
  • Proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, AV equipment, and lecterns.
  • Maintain proper control and storage of meeting room supplies such as linen, pads, pens/pencils, candy, etc. as required.
  • Loads, delivers, and/or unloads equipment, furniture, cleaning supplies,
  • Set-up and tear-down of AV equipment and ensure electrical cords are safely adhered to floors.
  • Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and sanitary.
  • Report and document damages or maintenance needs, including but not limited to broken furniture, equipment malfunctions, etc. to management.
  • Assist banquet servers, bartenders, and/or culinary team by refreshing bar product, food service or coffee service, assisting with plate-up, expediting food to rooms or buffets.
  • Remove trash from buildings, break areas, and dish area to dumpster as needed.
  • Responds to guest or client requests promptly and courteously.
  • Communicate effectively with the event services, banquet, kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Actively builds relationships with team members and is a team player. Treats all POSTOAK employees, managers, and customers with respect.
  • Dresses professionally and in accordance with company dress code and area uniform requirements.
  • Attends all required company training programs and meetings.
  • Follows instructions and responds to management direction.
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of the Employee Handbook.
  • Assists in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Assists in housekeeping and/or maintenance as needed.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Six (6) months events, hospitality, banquet, or related experience preferred.

Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, the Employee Handbook, other Company policies and procedures, short correspondence, memos, and documents. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to listen and comprehend, and present information to guests, co- workers, and management.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand and/or walk for a prolonged period of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Ability to reach, stoop, and/or crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and/or hear. Ability to step up and down onto platforms while carrying items. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb, balance and stoop; kneel; crouch; and/or crawl.
