Job summary

EOS Hospitality is seeking a banquet setup houseperson to ensure events are set up per the client instructions and BEO, maintaining high standards of service.

You will tear down and set up rooms, move and store equipment, clean spaces, assist servers and managers, and help deliver a smooth operation during events; flexibility to work weekends and holidays; strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Tears down and sets-up meeting and event rooms per BEO specifications.
• Care for, move, and store equipment such as tables, risers, dance floors, lecterns, and room supplies.
• Periodically clean meeting and event rooms before and after events.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients during functions.
• Assist with straightening chairs, clearing dishes, changing linens, and restocking supplies.
• Coordinate with banquet staff to ensure a smooth operation that meets service standards.

Description

Summary: The banquet setup houseperson plays a vital role in ensuring that all details of the events are handled with precision and professionalism. Making sure the venue is set up according to the instructions of the client per the BEO (Banquet Event Order).

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Tears down and sets-up meeting and event rooms. This may include stripping the room of all its furniture and resetting the room per the specifications outline in the BEO (Banquet Event Order).
• Properly cares for, moves, and stores equipment, such as tables, risers, dance floors, lecterns, and room supplies, such as linen, pads, pens/pencils, etc.
• Periodically cleans the meeting and event rooms including, but not limited to, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, wiping and washing areas before and after the event.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients during functions as needed.
• Also includes, but is not limited to, straightening of chairs, clearing the used dishes and glassware from the tables, changing soiled table linen, emptying trash cans, and restocking materials.
• Participates with banquet servers, banquet bartenders, banquet captains, banquet manager and any pertinent company employees in producing a smooth and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of customer service.

• Follow all restaurant policies and procedures.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on various floor surfaces.
• The ability to frequently lift and carry trays of plated food, dishes, and other supplies weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. This may involve navigating crowded spaces.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting, including reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level to serve guests, clear tables, and stock supplies.
• Occasional pushing and pulling of carts or other equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment that may include exposure to hot (kitchen) and cold (refrigerators/freezers) temperatures, as well as loud noise.
