Job summary

Environmental Services Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking part time (22.5 hours/week) Housekeeping Workers to join our team. The shift is 3pm to 11pm, weekends and 1 weekday. Orientation will require 5 days of attendance.

Under supervision, the Housekeeping Worker cleans and services building areas, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning and sanitizing in a healthcare or residential setting.
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety procedures.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and sanitize all areas of the facility including corridors, lobby, offices, restrooms and elevators.
• Collect, clean, relinereceptacles and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Clean resident rooms and corridors including high touch areas and surfaces using proper techniques and chemicals.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and return to correct placement.
• Wash walls, windows and furniture to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
• Transport regulated medical waste in compliance with infection control policies.
• Maintain assigned work areas in a clean, safe, sanitary and attractive condition.
• Follow safety precautions when using chemicals and equipment and maintain infection control practices.
• Experience in strip, wax and buffering where applicable.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager cleans and services building areas, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the facility.

Job Duties:

• Clean, disinfect and sanitize all areas of the facility to include but not limited to corridors, common areas, lobby, offices, restrooms, stairwells and elevators.


• Collect, clean, reline receptacles and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.


• Clean, disinfect and sanitize resident rooms and corridors to include but not limited to high touch areas; furniture; beds; restrooms, handrails, overbed tables and commodes using proper cleaning and disinfection techniques and chemicals.


• Must work with various cleaning chemicals and solutions.


• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.


• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items needed to maintain a clean safe. environment for our residents, visitors and staff.


• Remove, transport Regulated Medical Waste in compliance with Infection Control and Blood-borne Pathogen Policies and Procedures.


• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary and attractive manner.


• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using chemicals and equipment.


• Ensure that established Infection Control practices are maintained when performing all tasks.


• Experience in Strip, Wax and Buffering.
