Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Training Leader for Environmental Management Services (EMS) at the VA facility in Pittsburgh.

This role focuses on hospital housekeeping procedures, on-the-job training, equipment cleaning, and EMS quality assurance training within the EMS service line. The incumbent assists in EMS administration and training, applying adult education concepts to design, develop, and deliver courses using simulation and educational technology tools to enhance learning

Qualifications

• No specific degree or length of training is required; evidence of training or experience must be shown on the resume.
• Qualifications will be evaluated against the OPM Federal Wage System standards and the screen-out element is used to determine eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develops new approaches, methods and techniques that consider adult learning modalities.
• Customizes materials to meet organizational requirements and needs.
• Develops evidence-based course content for education technologies used in EMS training.
• Delivers courses using EMS learning exchanges (SIM center) to maximize training effectiveness.
• Creates course documentation aligned with established educational design standards.
• Delivers developmental classes for instructors in educational competencies and strategies.
