Job description

As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you’ll lead our housekeeping team to deliver spotless, welcoming environments in guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces. You’ll oversee daily operations, train and mentor staff, and ensure every corner of the property reflects our high standards of cleanliness and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Supervisor’s primary responsibilities will include:

• Visually inspect suites, guest rooms and corridors for cleanliness and appearance.
• Prepare work orders to shampoo carpets and order supplies to maintain par stock in linen closets.
• Train and monitor performance of room attendants and the house person staff.
• Exercise good judgment, as well as provide organization, instruction, guidance, communication and counseling.
• Assign staff to their designated work areas and ensure that all jobs are completed within the shift.
• Prepare P.M. room status report.
• Take requested inventories of furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies.
• Ensure that both carts and linen/supply closets are kept clean, neat, and stocked according to departmental guidelines.
• Report all maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms, corridors and public space areas to the Engineering Department immediately.
• Expedite special guest requests, such as extra towels, blankets or pillows.
• Assist room attendants and house person in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of their jobs as the need arises.
• Report all suspicious persons or actions, hazardous conditions, etc. to a Supervisor immediately.
• Greet guests in hallways or when passing by.
• Respond to guest questions.
• Provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.
• Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in the event of a fire or other emergency situations.
• Other duties as assigned such as assisting Room Attendants or cross-training when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Education – High school diploma required.
• Experience – Minimum six months supervisory experience or one year of comparable Housekeeping experience acceptable
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a hotel position preferred

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written English communication, bilingual proficiency is a plus
• Physical ability to lift up to 150 lbs, climb stairs, and stand/walk for extended periods
• Proven ability to train, direct, and motivate a team
