What You Will Bring To This Role:
The
SpringHill Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront is seeking a
Housekeeping Supervisor to assist in the management and supervision of the Housekeeping Department. The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure that the hotel guest rooms and public spaces are cleaned in accordance with guest expectations and Brand Standards. This position reports to the Housekeeping Manager.
Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
- Supervise and train Housekeepers, Housekeeping Aides and Public Space Attendants.
- Thoroughly inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms and corridors for cleanliness and appearance.
- Ensure that all arrival rooms are cleaned and inspected on time on a daily basis.
- Guide staff to ensure that guest service and safety is our top priority. Assist with guest requests.
- Embrace our accountability culture when dealing with employee/guest issues.
- Report all maintenance deficiencies in arrival rooms and corridors via radio communication; use work orders/emails to report other non-emergency issues.
- Ensure that both carts and supply closets are kept clean, neat, and stocked according to housekeeping guidelines.
- Monitor issuance of keys/radios and maintain inventory.
- Coordinate with laundry to ensure linen is picked up and delivered to meet hotel needs.
- Make monthly linen inventories. Assist room attendants and house persons in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of their jobs.
- Supports management in budgeting, labor costs and inventory control.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
- Candidates must be available to work a varied schedule to include: days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Proficient in computers, Fosse System knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and use of equipment.
- Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Candidates can expect to: walk and stand for a full shift; bend stoop and reach overhead; pushing and pulling up to 250lbs and lifting up to 50lbs.
