JobSummary:
The HousekeepingInspector is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and overall appearanceof guest rooms and public areas, ensuring they meet the hotel’s high standards.This role involves inspecting rooms, coordinating with housekeeping staff, cleaningrooms in times of staffing needs and providing feedback to ensure that allareas are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and guestsatisfaction.
KeyResponsibilities
Room Inspection
- Inspect guest rooms and public areasafter they have been cleaned to ensure they meet hotel standards.
- Check that all furniture, fixtures, andappliances are clean, functional, and in good condition.
- Verify that all amenities are properlystocked and that rooms are ready for guest occupancy.
- Report any maintenance issues or roomdiscrepancies to the appropriate department for resolution.
Staff Coordination
- Provide feedback to housekeeping staffon the quality of their work, offering guidance and training as needed.
- Assist in the assignment of daily tasksto housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor the progress of room cleaningand ensure timely completion in line with the hotel's schedule.
- Support the housekeeping team duringbusy periods or when additional help is needed.
Guest Interaction
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries orcomplaints related to room cleanliness, resolving issues to ensure guestsatisfaction.
- Maintain a professional and courteousdemeanor when interacting with guests, addressing their concerns promptly.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure that all housekeeping activitiescomply with hotel policies and local health and safety regulations.
- Follow all safety procedures andguidelines, particularly regarding the handling and storage of cleaningchemicals.
- Report any potential safety hazards orsecurity concerns to management immediately.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of roominspections, including any issues identified and actions taken.
- Communicate regularly with theHousekeeping Supervisor/Manager about the status of room readiness and anyongoing concerns.
- Assistin inventory control by monitoring the use of cleaning supplies and reportingwhen reordering is necessary.
Otherduties as assigned to meet the needs of the property.
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience inhousekeeping, with a focus on inspection or supervisory roles preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and acommitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication and leadershipskills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Ability to work independently andmanage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift and moveobjects (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for extended periods.
WorkingConditions:
