Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Sunnyvale Silicon Valley seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a team of room attendants and supervise daily cleaning operations. You will uphold brand standards, ensure guest satisfaction, and support sustainability goals at the property.

You will train, schedule and coach staff, manage recruitment, oversee safety, and coordinate with vendors to maintain service quality. Weekend/holiday coverage may be required, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience or equivalent training required.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring brand or hotel standards and HHM core values are met.
• Screen job applicants and hire new employees as needed.
• Train staff to clean rooms efficiently according to established standards; coordinate with vendors if needed.
• Communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
• Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to associates; supervise laundry staff if applicable.
• Prepare work schedules and align staffing with occupancy; ensure safe staffing levels.
• Follow EarthView sustainability guidelines and practices; enforce safety, OSHA and MSDS rules.
• Assist in breakfast area as needed; ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Focus

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
• Screen job applicants, and hire new employees (in the event housekeeping associates are HHM employees.)
• Train staff to clean rooms in an efficient manner according to established standards or partner with external vendors to ensure staff is trained properly.
• Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
• Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to associates.
• On occasion, clean rooms or assist staff with cleaning rooms.
• Address associate performance and behavior concerns by either direct intervention with HHM associates or through vendors.
• Supervise laundry employees, if applicable.
• Prepare work schedules for HHM associates or provide vendors with anticipated occupancy to ensure proper staffing levels.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
