A leading company in the hospitality industry is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to maintain high cleanliness standards and oversee staff at their South Dakota casino. This position requires hands-on housekeeping duties along with management responsibilities including staff training and conflict resolution. Ideal candidates will have experience in commercial housekeeping and be familiar with cleaning supplies and equipment, coupled with strong communication skills.
To ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained at the casino in both public and back of the house areas in accordance with the procedures and policies of GRC. Will occasionally be called upon to drive GRC vehicles to provide transport of staff between Bay cabins and/or campgrounds and casino property.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
It is the responsibility of the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and daily upkeep of all public and employee areas.
He/she will help identify maintenance needs relating to necessary repairs and preventative maintenance.
The Housekeeping Supervisor will be a hands-on housekeeper during shift.
The Housekeeping Supervisor also assists the Housekeeping Manager with hiring, training, and scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage based on workload and demands of the business.
He/she enforces and oversees the disciplinary and conflict resolution procedures in accordance with GRC policies and procedures.
It is the responsibility of the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure that staff maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor at all times and to instill in all staff, by example, that guest satisfaction and exemplary service are the standards to be maintained at all times.
He/she will assist with regular performance appraisals of all staff.
Must be available for shift rotation when required.
Will need to know or learn basic computer skills.
Will also perform any other duties assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Employee shall comply with all BSA/AML regulations, reporting, and training requirements – Specifically those in the Grand River Casino Written System of Internal Controls (and appendices) for BSA/AML Compliance.
PREREQUISITES:
Must be 21 years of age or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Non-Gaming license. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to communicate in the primary language of the workplace.
Experience:
Knowledge of commercial housekeeping in a hotel/restaurant environment preferred. Must understand staff scheduling and be familiar with commercial cleaning supplies and equipment.
Physical:
Requires stamina for constant movement of walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, repetitive motions, pushing heavy cleaning equipment; must have the ability to lift forty (40) pounds frequently and up to sixty (60) pounds occasionally. Must possess the hand and finger dexterity for using tools and equipment.
