Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Little Italy is seeking a dynamic Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a dedicated team in maintaining high cleanliness and service standards. The role requires coordinating staff, ensuring supplies, and enforcing safety protocols across all areas of the hotel.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of leadership experience in housekeeping and a high school diploma. The position is on-site with potential for career growth within Schulte Hospitality Group.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years in leadership Housekeeping position.
• Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned suites and public areas for cleanliness and repair.
• Ensure staff have supplies, equipment and proper uniforms.
• Train staff on safety standards and enforce them; investigate accidents.
• Perform housekeeping duties including making beds, vacuuming and cleaning.
• Update status of discrepant rooms during shift.
• Monitor overall hotel cleanliness and exterior areas.
• Act as Manager on Duty when required.
• Available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects all assigned suites and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, etc. are clean and in good repair.
• Ensure that all associates have proper supplies, equipment and uniform including nametag, gloves and goggles.
• Train associates on safety standards and enforce those standards on a consistent basis. Identify associates engaging in unsafe behaviors and retrain them appropriately. Complete accident investigations and take steps to prevent future accidents.
• Performs all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming and cleaning.
• Verifies and updates status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
• Randomly selects assigned rooms to ensure cleanliness.
• Perform opening and closing shift duties.
• Notifies GM and/or Chief Engineer of maintenance repairs necessary.
• Monitor cleanliness of hotel including parking lot and exterior entrances.
• Acts as Manager on Duty when required.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of two (2) years in leadership Housekeeping position
• Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
• Excellent time management skills
