Job Description: Housekeeping Supervisor at Fairfield Inn Philadelphia

Location: 8800 Bartram Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19153

Overview: The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections and assuming all Housekeeping Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity levels are met.
  2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report their availability to the Front Office.
  3. Oversee the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and restocked.
  4. Complete and submit daily assignment records to the Housekeeping Office on time.
  5. Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items according to standards.
  6. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  7. Oversee daily duty assignments for Room Attendants and House Attendants.
  8. Maintain communication with the Front Office and Engineering via pager/radio during shifts.
  9. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.
  10. Initiate and follow up on repair and maintenance work orders.
  11. Assist in training housekeeping staff.
  12. Perform cleaning duties as needed.
  13. Complete cleaning projects biannually.
  14. Ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework helpful.
  • Two to three years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand throughout the shift.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff and guests in a courteous, service-oriented manner.
