Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the housekeeping, laundry, and floor services for the entire campus, including scheduling and coordinating staff under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Represent the campus positively, fostering respect and courtesy for residents and employees. Promote safety and well-being within campus programs.
  2. Uphold the campus’s Mission Statement.
  3. Maintain HIPAA standards, keeping all medical and healthcare information confidential.
  4. Supervise housekeeping staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, disciplining, evaluating, scheduling, and coordinating daily activities.
  5. Manage trash removal in collection areas.
  6. Clean inhabited and vacant units to a “like new” condition, including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, and appliances.
  7. Clean all building areas to a “like new” condition.
  8. Check shipments and deliveries from vendors.
  9. Lead group cleaning projects and coordinate with outside vendors.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Occasionally travel for training, education, emergencies, and company functions.
  2. Be knowledgeable of fire and safety procedures, including those involving blood-borne pathogens.
  3. Maintain a professional appearance and uniform at all times.
  4. Complete work and cleaning orders timely.
  5. Manage budget and exercise cost control.
  6. Interact effectively with marketing tours and prospective residents.
  7. Maintain excellent resident and employee relations, handling complaints constructively.
  8. Attend required employee in-services.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
Prerequisites
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in janitorial services preferred; janitorial or maintenance experience required; two years in a similar role preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently, conduct business professionally with confidentiality, use hand tools, carts, and dollies.
  • Abilities: Work indoors and outdoors, climb stairs, lift objects up to 25 pounds overhead, move objects over 40 pounds, work under stress, respond to emergencies, and assist in evacuations if needed.
