Job summary

HHS Aviation at Rochester General Hospital is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the EVS cleaning team, ensuring a safe, clean environment for patients and staff. You will oversee staff, assign tasks, and ensure coverage across all hospital areas.

The role requires experience as a supervisor, English communication, and a commitment to high cleanliness standards. Day and night shifts are available with flexible full-time or part-time options and competitive hourly wages.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
• GED or high school diploma.
• Experience as a supervisor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all HHS cleaning procedures and best practices.
• Provide friendly and kind service to all individuals in the hospital.
• Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently.

Location: Rochester General Hospital 1425 Portland Ave, Rochester, NY

We're looking for friendly, compassionate, team players to join our housekeeping team!

Support the housekeeping (EVS) department leadership to maintain a high level of cleanliness and consistency throughout all areas of the hospital. Create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where patients can heal.

Responsibilities

• Oversee team members and assign cleaning duties to ensure coverage of all areas

Qualifications

• Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and be in uniform
• GED or high school diploma
• Experience as a supervisor preferred
• Preferred: Housekeeping experience (cleaning, environmental services, custodian, janitorial, room attendant, floor care technician, hotel operations, healthcare)

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift
• Pushing and pulling carts or equipment (over 100 lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift
• Must handle chemicals including bleach, wax, and disinfectants
• Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
