Description

Housekeeping Supervisors shall be responsible for supervising all day-to-day activities of the shift assigned. Shift supervision shall include but not limited to routine cleaning duties, preventive maintenance of equipment, inventory of daily supplies, monitoring performance of shift personnel and such other functions and duties as required.

Requirements
Typical Work Routine Includes But Not Limited To
  1. Supervise, direct and coordinate facility cleaning activities including:
  2. Use daily event reports and details to determine set and refresh of rooms per client specifications
  3. Removal and disposal of trash in proper receptacles
  4. Supervision of part‑time employees in assigned tasks as required.
  5. Cleaning of floors, glass, mirrors, stainless steel, chromed surfaces, painted surfaces, plastic surfaces, porcelain, Formica, woodwork, etc. using correct cleaning techniques and supplies
  6. Policing and cleaning of interior and exterior spaces, including restrooms, public areas, inner offices, exhibit halls, meeting rooms, ballrooms, theater, prefunction areas, stairwells, loading docks, service areas, escalators, elevators, and event spaces
  7. Clean, buff and wax all floors throughout the facilities.
  8. Make routine building tours to ensure a clean environment in the facility.
  9. Staff Supervision:
  10. Assign staff to duties at the beginning of each shift.
  11. Ensure that temporary staff completes assigned duties safely and efficiently.
  12. Monitor temporary staff activities to ensure that workers are adhering to company standards of behavior. Report any deviations to Management.
  13. Make recommendations to Management for improvement of temporary labor activities.
  14. Assist with temporary labor sign in/out to ensure accurate recording of workers and time worked.
  15. Instruct and train staff, emphasizing safe and careful work practices and handling of chemicals, equipment, tools
  16. Coordinate counseling of staff with management.
  17. Deliver high quality customer service:
  18. Respond to client and staff requests for assistance, additional equipment, set changes, room refreshes.
  19. Use correct radio etiquette to respond to requests and radio calls in a timely and professional manner.
  20. Use radio earpieces to ensure control of radio communication and client satisfaction
  21. Assist co‑workers with completion of duties to ensure client satisfaction.
  22. Assist visitors, clients, vendors, and others with directions and information about the facility.
  23. When possible, escort guests to desired locations.
  24. Meet and exceed customer expectations by delivering superior quality service and teamwork.
  25. Safety and Security:
  26. Observe and practice safe working techniques and ensure that staff is working safely.
  27. Understand and demonstrate the correct use, storage, and labeling of chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
  28. Correct or report safety hazards.
  29. Understand and acknowledge best practices for building evacuation and emergency situations.
  30. Assist with building evacuation when necessary.
  31. Knowledgeable of policies regarding safe working procedures and conditions on the premises. Will be responsible for practicing such procedures.
  32. Maintain a clean, orderly workplace.
  33. Understand and follow guidelines for protecting our property, and utilizing safe and careful work practices
  34. Maintain a clean, orderly personal workspace, equipment, and appearance; make recommendations for improvement
  35. Follow company uniform, dress code, and grooming guidelines to present a neat, clean appearance
  36. Assist with cleaning of common areas including interior and exterior spaces, breakrooms, storerooms, offices, etc.
  37. Demonstrate respect.
  38. Exhibit a professional demeanor at all times, to everyone
  39. Utilize professional communication skills-verbal, and written to interact with others
  40. Meet privately with management to resolve differences, discrepancies or conflicts
  41. Maintain a cordial and professional working relationship with co‑workers
  42. When possible, assist co‑workers with execution of tasks to ensure the success of all events and activities.
Physical requirements
  1. Lift and move moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
  2. Able to move loaded chair and table dollies with assistance.
  3. Extensive walking, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching to perform routine set‑up duties throughout the facility and facility grounds.
  4. Able to walk and stand for up to eight (8) hours.
  5. Read and speak English in order to interpret written instructions and respond to guest requests.
  6. Maintain equipment by following established procedures.
Reporting requirements
  1. Complete and submit shift reports including departmental and/or interdepartmental requirements as required.
  2. Follow company procedures to acquire and return equipment, including two‑way radios, keys, carts, supplies, etc. Assume full responsibility for company property in your possession.
  3. Ensure that all storage rooms are kept clean and orderly
  4. Notify management of equipment and facilities in need of repair or replacement, or supplies requiring replenishment
  5. Inspect Set‑Up department equipment on a routine basis and notify the Set‑Up Manager of equipment requiring repair or replacement.
  6. Report to Public Safety all incidents of building, equipment or facility damage
  7. Report all events involving suspicious activity, illness or injury, involving employees, guests, vendors, contractors, or others in our facility.
  8. Report all safety issues, broken, damaged or mal‑functioning equipment or facility damage
  9. Complete and submit required payroll information, leave requests, and related documentation in a timely manner.

Attend and participate in required meetings and training to work toward enhanced job performance and understanding.

At all times, project a positive image to employees, guests, vendors and others. Display a positive outlook and pleasant manner with all subordinates, peers, and clients. Remain in proper uniform at all times with shirt tucked in, name badge, radio and earpiece.

Position requires irregular work schedules and the performance of work assignments, which may not be directly related to job specifications. Attendance is consistent and tardiness is avoided.

Demonstrate flexibility in dealing effectively with unscheduled events/changed priorities/incomplete information.

Adjust priorities and respond with a sense of urgency to matters of importance. Keep management promptly and fully informed of any situation that requires immediate management attention.

Maintain positive working relationships with customers, service contractors, suppliers, and companies and firms doing business with Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority, to promote coordinated services to clients. At all times, present a positive image of the Authority and its component divisions.

Support the mission, vision and objectives of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority and its component divisions and follow company policies and procedures. Support and implement management decisions.

Act as a team player, working with other departments to realize shared goals and objectives that will achieve “One Team, One Company”.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
