POSITION: Housekeeping Supervisor

STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly
SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that policies and procedures related to housekeeping, waste management, and sanitation supply storage are implemented and maintained consistently. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for staffing and managing the housekeeping department.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must successfully clear a background check, TB skin test or x-ray, and health screening
- Current CPR certification
- Current certificate of training for successful completion of the five (5) hour initial fire safety training provided by the Rules and Regulations of the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner
- Must have a valid driver's license, if part of duties is driving the community vehicle
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and supervises Housekeeping Department and staff including recruiting, interviewing, training, and scheduling
- Oversees and supervises Laundry Department and staff including recruiting, interviewing, training, and scheduling (if applicable)
- Oversees the community cleaning schedule for apartments and common areas
- Supports the Maintenance Director by ordering or reporting housekeeping supplies and monitoring supply inventory (monthly)
- Supports the Maintenance Director by ordering or reporting laundry supplies and monitoring supply inventory (monthly)
- Maintains cleanliness and tour-readiness of all common areas to include carpet cleaning and light bulb maintenance and overall housekeeping
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers
- Empty wastebaskets, clean, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
- Dust and polish furniture, finishes and equipment
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
- Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as scheduled or necessary
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met
- Clean metal fixtures and fittings
- Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
- Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
- Wipe down glass surfaces
- Make up beds and change linens as required
- Tidy up rooms
- Operate mechanized cleaning equipment
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
- Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements
- Drive the community bus for resident outings (if applicable)
