Jackson College is seeking a Cleaning Team Member for the 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm) to help maintain a clean, safe, and student-ready campus environment. You will disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas, as well as assist with event setup and snow removal when needed.
A team-oriented, dependable individual is preferred, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Training will be provided on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
The Cleaning Team Member plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and student-ready campus environment that supports learning, belonging, and student success. Guided by a Human First philosophy and the College’s Maroon & Gold Standards (MGS), this position helps ensure that instructional, student-service, and common spaces are clean, secure, and well-maintained—contributing directly to students’ ability to focus, persist, and succeed.
This position performs general janitorial and housekeeping duties including cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, classrooms, offices, common areas, and other campus facilities. Responsibilities may include vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, floor care, restroom sanitation, event setup, snow removal support, and operating custodial equipment and cleaning tools.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, customer service focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Team members help maintain high cleanliness standards while supporting a healthy learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
This role offers hands-on custodial and facilities experience while contributing to the overall appearance, safety, and daily operations of the College. Training is provided on cleaning procedures, safety practices, equipment operation, and chemical handling.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Internal: Regular contact with Director, frequent contact with college personnel (including staff, administrators, and faculty) and students on daily work assignments.
External: Limited contact with vendors and suppliers of material and/or equipment.

This job requires that the employee is occasionally needed to work a flexible schedule to include some weekend and evening work. The work schedule is determined by coordinating/weighing the available equipment and labor resources against prioritized work requests and pre-planned special events. Work may be required during unscheduled environmental emergencies, building system failures, or occupant cleaning needs.
