Job Description

Reports To: Executive Housekeeper

General Purpose: Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas by meeting established standards of cleaning to ensure guest satisfaction and the overall appearance of the property. This position requires working on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

1. Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, set up cleaning carts with supplies for daily use, and organize carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
2. Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways to maintain a clean and presentable facility.
3. Use ladders or stools occasionally to clean hard-to-reach areas.
4. Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls, wipe pipes, and clean mirrors, sinks, and walls.
5. Replace towels, soaps, and amenities; restock literature as needed to meet hotel standards.
6. Wash all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soil.
7. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings, including vents and ceiling corners.
8. Strip beds and remake with fresh linen, checking for cleanliness and soil; lift mattresses to check for soil underneath.
9. Check and clean closets, restocking supplies such as hangers, blankets, and pillows.
10. Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, including under furniture and hard-to-reach areas.
11. Inspect door and window locks, ensuring they are secure and functional; report any issues.
12. Inspect room equipment for proper functioning and report deficiencies.
13. Secure equipment, keys, and supplies to protect property.
14. Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
16. Clean patio/balcony areas and assist other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; effective communication skills.
• Professional appearance.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to maneuver a loaded cart weighing up to 50 lbs. through hallways and into/out of closets.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, and kneel frequently.
• Ability to bend down and get on/off the floor multiple times daily.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience is a plus but not required.
