Job summary

Serene Health Services is seeking a dedicated housekeeping supervisor for our healthcare facility in Augusta, ME. The role focuses on coordinating staffing for cleaning of offices, resident units, and common areas, while ensuring safe use of chemicals and compliance with safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of supervisory housekeeping/janitorial experience in healthcare, plus excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to schedule and supervise staff.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory housekeeping/janitorial experience in a healthcare facility.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to schedule and supervise staff.
• Flexibility with schedule and shift coverage.
• Must enjoy working with the senior population.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper cleaning of offices, public spaces, resident units, and grounds.
• Ensure safety with cleaning chemicals per guidelines and compliance with OSHA/EPA/MSDS rules.
• Coordinate annual deep cleaning programs for residents and common areas.
• Schedule preparation of units for admissions.
• Inspect all areas and maintain inventory control for supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
• Schedule/train housekeeping staff and conduct department meetings.
• Ability to hire and onboard staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating staffing schedules to ensure the proper cleaning of offices, public spaces, residents units, and grounds
• Using cleaning chemicals safely and properly in accordance with the department guidelines and assuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards, MSDS, OSHA, EPA and other relevant rules and regulations
• Coordinating annual deep cleaning programs for both residents units and common areas
• Scheduling the preparation of units for admissions
• Conducting regular inspection of all areas and maintaining inventory control systems for all supplies, chemicals, and equipment
• Scheduling and conducting training sessions and department meetings for housekeeping personnel
• Ability to higher your own staff

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years of supervisory housekeeping/janitorial experience in a healthcare facility
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to successfully schedule and supervise staff
• Flexibility with schedule
• Must enjoy working with the senior population
