Job summary

Serene is seeking a hands-on housekeeping supervisor to coordinate staffing and ensure clean, safe environments for residents and staff in our Maine facilities.

You will schedule, train, and supervise teams, monitor chemical safety and inventory, and lead deep-cleaning programs for residents units and common areas.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma and at least five years of supervisory housekeeping experience in healthcare, with strong communication and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory housekeeping/janitorial experience in a healthcare facility.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to schedule and supervise staff effectively.
• Flexibility with schedule and shifts.
• Must enjoy working with seniors and residents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating staffing schedules to ensure proper cleaning of offices, public spaces, residents units, and grounds.
• Using cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with guidelines, with compliance to MSDS/OSHA/EPA rules.
• Coordinating annual deep cleaning programs for residents units and common areas.
• Scheduling the preparation of units for admissions.
• Conducting regular inspections and maintaining inventory control for supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
• Scheduling and conducting training sessions and department meetings for housekeeping staff.
• Ability to hire your own staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating staffing schedules to ensure the proper cleaning of offices, public spaces, residents units, and grounds
• Using cleaning chemicals safely and properly in accordance with the department guidelines and assuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards, MSDS, OSHA, EPA and other relevant rules and regulations
• Coordinating annual deep cleaning programs for both residents units and common areas
• Scheduling the preparation of units for admissions
• Conducting regular inspection of all areas and maintaining inventory control systems for all supplies, chemicals, and equipment
• Scheduling and conducting training sessions and department meetings for housekeeping personnel
• Ability to higher your own staff

We seek the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years of supervisory housekeeping/janitorial experience in a healthcare facility
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to successfully schedule and supervise staff
• Flexibility with schedule
• Must enjoy working with the senior population
