The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, plus the ability to schedule, train, and manage costs. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Holden Beach, NC.

Position Summary

PROACTIVE Vacations is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee the housekeeping operations for our vacation rental properties.

This position is responsible for coordinating cleaning schedules, recruiting and managing housekeeping contractors and property inspectors, maintaining quality standards, organizing seasonal deep cleans, and overseeing housekeeping rates and invoices. The ideal candidate is an organized, hands‑on leader who communicates well, takes initiative, and is committed to delivering consistently clean and guest‑ready vacation homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily housekeeping operations for vacation rental properties
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise housekeepers, property inspectors, and linen providers
• Coordinate cleaning schedules based on guest arrivals and departures
• Develop and implement cleaning procedures, quality standards, and operational processes
• Train housekeeping team members on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and company policies
• Schedule and coordinate deep cleans during the off‑season
• Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and order additional supplies as needed
• Manage housekeeping rates, invoices, and related cost controls
• Respond to guest housekeeping concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate property readiness and cleaning services
• Motivate team members and maintain accountability for performance and service standards

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in vacation rental property management
• Previous housekeeping, cleaning operations, or hospitality management experience
• Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of vacation rental cleaning practices and quality‑control standards
• Customer service experience with the ability to resolve concerns professionally
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Comfortable using computers and office‑based software
• Proficient typing and data‑entry skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Availability to work Saturdays and overtime during peak seasons

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial laundering processes and equipment
• Spanish‑speaking or bilingual

Compensation, Benefits & More

Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 per hour plus bonus/incentive compensation

Benefits: Paid time off and professional development assistance

Schedule: Full‑time, year‑round position

June through August: Saturdays required, averaging 45-50 hours per week

April, May, September, and October: Alternating Saturdays required, averaging approximately 45 hours per week

November through March: Some Saturdays required, averaging approximately 40 hours per week

Overtime is required during portions of the April through October peak season
