Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage monthly, weekly, and daily housekeeping forecasts to ensure proper staffing levels and operational efficiency.
- Administer and enforce Lost & Found procedures, ensuring all items are documented, secured, and returned in accordance with company policies.
- Develop, manage, and maintain annual housekeeping budgets while ensuring cost-effective operations and expense control.
- Plan, implement, and continuously improve housekeeping strategies, standards, and operational procedures.
- Conduct routine quality control inspections of guest rooms, public areas, corridors, linen closets, common washrooms, and service areas to ensure cleanliness, functionality, presentation, and compliance with resort standards.
- Identify, document, and report property damage, maintenance deficiencies, safety concerns, and housekeeping-related issues.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up and timely resolution with Maintenance and other departments.
- Ensure all maintenance requests, work orders, and damage reports are accurately recorded, reported, tracked, and completed.
- Monitor inventory levels and oversee the purchasing, usage, and consumption of housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, equipment, and chemicals.
- Perform monthly reviews of purchasing activity and departmental consumption to ensure budget compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train housekeeping team members
- Develop, implement, and oversee departmental training programs, quality standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and formal performance evaluations to ensure employee growth and accountability.
- Foster employee engagement through recognition programs, incentive tracking, team development, and initiatives that promote morale and retention.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest and owner concerns, ensuring effective resolution and a positive guest experience.
- Promote and maintain a guest/owner-focused culture that consistently delivers exceptional service and exceeds guest expectations.
- Ensure housekeeping operations support the resort's quality, cleanliness, safety, and service standards at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with Front Desk, Maintenance, and Homeowner Services teams to deliver seamless service and operational excellence.
- Analyze departmental performance metrics (KPIs) and implement corrective action plans to drive continuous improvement in service, quality, and efficiency.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, accountability, safety, and guest service excellence.
- Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, strong decision-making abilities, and the capacity to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Experience
- 3-5 years of progressive housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort or hospitality environment.
- 3+ years of management experience.
- Knowledge of housekeeping operations, budgeting, cost management, quality assurance, and guest experience.
- Experience recruiting, training, coaching and evaluating employees.
- Skilled at leadership, workforce planning, scheduling, communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and time-management.
