Job summary

Northwood Hospitality LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to lead the Housekeeping Department, ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained while controlling expenses.

You will direct supervisors, coordinate with Guest Services, Engineering, and Sales to manage schedules, inspections, inventories, and large turn days during group check-ins/out, and you will attend trainings and meetings as required.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of supervisory experience in a hotel or related field.
• A 4-year college degree preferred; or a 2-year college degree with 2+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housekeeping operations to ensure clean, safe guest environments.
• Prepare staff schedules according to forecast and budget guidelines.
• Assist in inventory and ordering of housekeeping supplies monthly or quarterly.
• Coordinate with Engineering on maintenance and work orders.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate with Guest Services.
• Manage large turn days during group check-ins/out.
• Monitor room inspections and ensure timely inspections.

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for ensuring the Housekeeping Department operates efficiently and that all team members provide all guests with quality service and a clean and safe environment throughout their stay, while efficiently managing expenses and maximizing service levels. While on property this manager is the leader of the Housekeeping Department, all Team Members including Supervisors report to this manager.

Job Duties

• Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Assist in maintaining and controlling all housekeeping equipment.
• Oversee room inspections daily and ensure that some rooms are inspected
• Ensure that public areas, guest rooms and back-of-house areas are cleaned
• Assist in maintaining required pars of all housekeeping and laundry supplies by ordering all needed supplies and amenities on a monthly or quarterly basis.
• Assist in conducting monthly and quarterly Housekeeping inventories on a timely basis.
• Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance and forward to Engineering. Monitor the established work order system on a daily basis according to hotel procedures. Follow up on work orders to ensure completion.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings for the Housekeeping Department.
• Assist in preparing schedules according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements.
• Manage and organize large turn days (including group check-ins or check-outs).
• Monitor out-of-order, out-of-service, discrepant and show rooms.
• Maintain constant communication with Guest Services.
• Properly store, secure and issue supplies as needed to meet business demands.
• Ensure completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects on a biannual basis.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.
