Position Overview

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for performing daily activities in the Environmental Services Department, ensuring the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, in accordance with regulations and directives from supervisors.

Roles And Responsibilities

1. Follow work and cleaning schedules as closely as practical.
2. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor within 24 hours, regardless of severity.
3. Participate in educational and training programs, including OSHA and CDC in-service trainings.
4. Maintain supplies and equipment, report issues like burned out lights promptly.
5. Assist with lifting and moving heavy equipment or supplies as needed.
6. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and furnishings daily.
7. Perform detailed cleaning tasks such as polishing fixtures, cleaning windows, floors, carpets, and walls.
8. Dispose of waste properly, including infectious waste, and perform infection control procedures.
9. Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, stretch, and lift at least 50 lbs. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
