Position Overview

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for performing daily activities within the Environmental Services Department, ensuring the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations, under the guidance of the Executive Director and/or Environmental Services Supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Follow work and cleaning schedules closely.
2. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor within 24 hours, regardless of severity.
3. Participate in scheduled in-service educational classes and training programs.
4. Maintain an adequate supply of environmental service supplies.
5. Report burned out lights and other maintenance issues promptly.
6. Assist in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as needed.
7. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and supplies, ensuring proper storage.
8. Perform daily environmental services tasks, including cleaning resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, floors, carpets, walls, and ceilings.
9. Remove waste and infectious materials properly.
10. Follow infection control procedures during cleaning, especially in isolation areas.
11. Ensure work areas are clean and equipment is stored properly before breaks and at shift end.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, stretch, and lift at least 50 lbs. Good communication skills are essential.
