Position Overview

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for performing daily activities of the Environmental Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment as directed by the Executive Director or Environmental Services Supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Follow work/cleaning schedules diligently.
2. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor within 24 hours.
3. Participate in scheduled in-service educational classes and training programs.
4. Ensure supplies are stocked and report maintenance issues like burned-out lights promptly.
5. Assist in lifting heavy equipment or supplies as needed.
6. Clean and sanitize furnishings, fixtures, floors, carpets, windows, and other surfaces daily.
7. Properly discard waste and infectious materials.
8. Perform isolation cleaning procedures as per infection control protocols.
9. Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and supplies.
10. Ensure work areas are clean and equipment is stored properly at all times.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, stretch, and lift at least 50 lbs. Good communication skills required.
