Position Overview

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for performing daily activities in the Environmental Services Department, ensuring the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, in accordance with regulations and directives from supervisors.

Roles And Responsibilities

1. Follow work/cleaning schedules closely.
2. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor within 24 hours.
3. Participate in scheduled educational and training programs, including OSHA and CDC hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens.
4. Maintain supplies in utility/janitorial closets.
5. Report malfunctioning lights and equipment promptly.
6. Assist with lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as requested.
7. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and supplies.
8. Perform daily cleaning tasks such as emptying trash, cleaning furnishings, fixtures, and surfaces.
9. Ensure proper cleaning of bathrooms, windows, floors, carpets, walls, and ceilings.
10. Follow infection control procedures for isolation cleaning.
11. Ensure work areas are clean and equipment is stored properly after use.

Qualifications

High School / GED required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and lift at least 50 lbs. Good communication skills required.
