Hyatt Westlake is seeking a Housekeeping Houseperson to maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly condition, contributing to a positive guest experience.

The role involves cleaning rooms and common areas, handling supplies, and assisting the Room Attendant. A high school diploma is preferred, with benefits including health and life insurance, EAP, and a 401(k) plan. This is a full-time, on-site position at Hyatt Westlake.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Able to lift or move heavy objects.
• Capable of learning simple procedures and routines.
• Able to perform routine housekeeping tasks repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other areas.
• Follow safety data sheet regulations when using chemicals.
• Move and dust furniture; polish surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, wax floors using equipment.
• Vacuum rugs and upholstery.
• Collect soiled linens and restock supplies.
• Clean bathrooms and replenish supplies.
• Refurnish rooms with towels and supplies.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash.
• Report maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist Room Attendant as needed.
• Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Housekeeping Houseperson will perform a combination of tasks which maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest experience.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Moves/arranges furniture and dusts/polishes furniture, metalwork and equipment.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
• Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.
• Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies.
• Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist Room Attendant with task as needed.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
