Job summary

HM Alpha Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Housekeeping Houseperson at DoubleTree San Diego Del Mar (209) for a full‑time schedule. Responsibilities include cleaning rooms and common areas, handling cleaning chemicals per MSDS, restocking supplies, and reporting maintenance needs. Must be able to work weekends/holidays and greet guests in a friendly manner.

Location: San Diego, CA. The role supports hotel operations and guest experience, with shift days and one opening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to lift and move objects and perform routine housekeeping tasks.
• Ability to follow simple instructions and learn procedures.
• Record of reliability and consistency in completing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other areas.
• Follows MSDS regulations when handling cleaning chemicals.
• Moves and dusts furniture, polishes surfaces and equipment.
• Sweeps, mops, waxes floors and cleans windows and walls.
• Collects soiled linens and restocks linen supplies.
• Cleans bathrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Greet guests warmly and assist as needed.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to appropriate staff.

Job description

The Housekeeping Houseperson will perform a combination of tasks which maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest experience. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Moves/arranges furniture and dusts/polishes furniture, metalwork and equipment.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
• Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.
• Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies.
• Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist Room Attendant with task as needed.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
