Job description

The Housekeeping Houseperson will carry out a variety of tasks that ensure the hotel premises are consistently clean, organized, and well-maintained, thereby contributing to a welcoming and positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

1. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
2. Follows safety regulations when using chemicals, as outlined in material safety data sheets.
3. Moves and arranges furniture; dusts and polishes furniture, metalwork, and equipment.
4. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using appropriate equipment.
5. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies with vacuum cleaners.
6. Collects soiled linens for laundering; stores linen supplies in designated areas.
7. Cleans bathrooms and replenishes supplies.
8. Refurnishes rooms with supplies such as towels; stocks cleaning carts with necessary supplies for each shift.
9. Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
10. Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays; transports trash to disposal areas.
11. Greets guests warmly and professionally.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma preferred.

Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license.
