Job summary

Hillsdale Hospital is seeking a dedicated housekeeping staff member to perform cleaning and disinfecting services across the hospital, including patient rooms, restrooms, floors, and common areas.

The role requires you to stay on your feet for the shift, be able to move heavy objects when assisting in patient moves, and maintain strict privacy of health information. Weekend and holiday work are required with premium pay opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have or be actively pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to be on your feet the entire shift with light to moderate physical activity.
• Excellent customer service, positive attitude and interpersonal skills including effective communication.
• Ability to prioritize and stay organized.
• Must pass background check and drug test including marijuana.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and disinfecting in all areas of the hospital (rooms, restrooms, floors, common areas, linens).
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of protected health information at all times.
• Move furniture and assist with patient moves as needed.
• Use equipment and report repairs or restocking to the appropriate person.
• Multitask and follow schedule while responding to incidents as they occur.

Work Schedule and Shift Premiums

• 1st shift is 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Must be able to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour
• Employees who work on a recognized holiday are paid time and a half for hours worked on the holiday in addition to holiday pay at straight time

Requirements

Responsibilities

• In all areas of the hospital, perform a variety of cleaning and disinfecting services including emptying trash cans, cleaning patient rooms, restrooms, floors, common areas, and changing bed linens
• Exhibit a professional demeanor and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information at all times
• Move furniture and other heavy objects for routine & non-routine cleaning and when assisting in patient moves
• Use equipment and supplies properly and report needed repairs or restocking to the appropriate individual
• Multitask and stick to a schedule while also responding to incidents as they occur throughout the day
