Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston is hiring a part-time EVS Associate to clean patient rooms, restrooms, offices, and public areas to hospital standards. The role requires bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods, with a 20-hour schedule over four days and mandatory every-other weekend flexibility.

You'll collect soiled linen, sort trash and recyclables, operate floor-care equipment, and participate in EVS training and safety meetings. Vaccination against influenza is required.

Performs housekeeping responsibilities in order to maintain a clean, safe environment throughout the hospital.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Cleans patient rooms daily according to hospital and department standards using seven step procedures. This includes proper disinfection of all surfaces, restrooms, and floors. Cleans patient discharges. Cleans precaution rooms according to Infection Control policies using proper disinfectants.
• Cleans all restrooms daily according to hospital and department standards using seven step procedures. Checks and restocks paper supplies.
• Cleans offices and conference rooms daily according to hospital and department standards using seven step procedures.
• Cleans entrances, lobbies and waiting areas daily according to hospital and department standards using seven step procedures. Vacuums carpets according to department procedures.
• Cleans utility rooms and nourishment stations according to hospital and department standards using seven step procedures. Cleans corridors and ancillary areas according to hospital and department standards using seven step procedures.
• Responsible for collecting all soiled linen and bringing to soiled utility room from patient units, ancillary & designated using areas. Replaces laundry bags as needed.
• Collect and sort trash, plastics, corrugated cardboard & blue wrap from designated rooms and place in proper area sometimes utilizing the baler & compactor for proper disposal.
• Cleans, strips, refinishes, spray buffs, shampoos, and maintains all floors Operates automatic floor machine, buffing machine, shampooing machine and vacuums. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of equipment.
• Participates in all EVS in-service training, department meetings & safety meetings. Works with basic computer programs and TDSS device.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Pay Range

$17.00 - $22.88

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
