Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, maintains prescribed standards of cleanliness for assigned areas using approved cleaning solutions & procedures by following posted work schedules. Supervision is received from the Director of Environmental Services. Performs assigned duties in accordance with organizational rules, policies, & procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Upholds KP Policies & Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, & applicable laws.
• Maintains floors & surfaces by operating cleaning equipment such as electric washers, stripers, waxers, polishers, & vacuum cleaners, making adjustments as needed.
• Performs general cleaning duties in areas like offices, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, examination rooms, patient rooms, & special procedure rooms using approved methods.
• Inspects assigned areas to ensure standards are met, reports deficiencies, and assures security.
• Replenishes dispensers for soap, towels, toilet tissue, & seat covers.
• Properly disposes of refuse including paper, foamites, needles, syringes, glass, cans, & other items in appropriate receptacles.
• Transports & disposes of soiled linen through approved methods.
• Maintains receptacles & replaces liners as needed.
• Moves equipment & furniture; adjusts curtains & drapes.
• Cleans equipment like wheelchairs, gurneys, & hamper holders.
• May perform routine duties such as moving materials, sanitizing beds & furniture, and making beds with fresh linen.
• Participates in staff development and training sessions.
• Establishes courteous, cooperative relations with staff, health plan members, & the public.
• Performs other related duties as required and takes on additional responsibilities as directed.
