Job Summary:

Performs a full range of housekeeping services at Navy Gateway Inn and Suites or Navy Lodge, including cleaning guest rooms, public spaces, storage, laundry, and exterior areas. Tasks include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing, debris removal, and linen transport, using both hand and powered equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean guest rooms and assigned areas; operate cleaning equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of furniture, walls, vents, and fixtures; replace linens, inspect mattresses, and move furniture as needed.
• Greet guests, ensuring privacy and security; maintain guest relations.
• Clean corridors, stairways, laundry areas, and exterior spaces; perform deep cleaning and scheduled carpet cleaning.
• Conduct minor repairs, report major repairs, and maintain storage areas.
• Communicate room status to supervisors; assist with receiving supplies and moving heavy items.
• Manage keys responsibly; report unusual circumstances; handle lost and found items.
• Assist with breakfast setup and cleanup, ensuring food safety and cleanliness.
• Complete safety and security training; follow protocols for blood-borne pathogens and safety measures.
• Perform laundry operations; may require a valid driver’s license for travel between facilities.
• Obtain necessary certifications, including NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen or have lived in the U.S. for three years.
• No experience required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Moderate physical effort required; ability to move furniture and operate cleaning equipment.
