Job summary

Hotel Hermosa in Hermosa Beach is seeking a Housekeeping Attendant to help keep the hotel clean, cared for, and running smoothly. You will work across public spaces, outdoor areas, laundry, and guestroom support, joining a hands-on housekeeping team eager to help wherever needed.

You’ll maintain cleanliness of grounds and common spaces, assist with laundry, and support other departments while ensuring a welcoming environment for guests.

Qualifications

• Basic cleaning skills and a strong eye for detail.
• Comfortable working across both indoor and outdoor areas of a hotel.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized.
• Willingness to jump in wherever needed and support the team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of hotel grounds, public areas, and common spaces.
• Remove trash and cigarette butts from grounds; keep outdoor areas tidy.
• Clean lobbies, hallways, walkways, railings, stairwells, and other high-traffic areas.
• Clean exterior windows, guestroom doors, sliding glass doors, and assigned areas.
• Maintain pool furniture, ice and vending machines, public benches, exterior lights, and dumpster areas.
• Run laundry and assist with distributing linens as needed; support Room Attendants.
• Shampoo carpets and turn mattresses as assigned.
• Report maintenance concerns to Housekeeping Supervisor; assist Maintenance with basic tasks.
• Safely use approved cleaning products and equipment; communicate with guests and team members.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

Located along Pacific Coast Highway in the heart of Hermosa Beach, Hotel Hermosa is a laid-back boutique hotel that captures the relaxed, eclectic spirit of Southern California. The 81-room property features beach-inspired accommodations, a year-round heated pool and spa, Beach Eats Café, and The Yard, an ocean-view outdoor space with fire pits, billiards, and lawn games. Just minutes from the beach, The Strand, and nearby Manhattan Beach, Hotel Hermosa offers a welcoming setting for guests to unwind, socialize, and experience the best of the South Bay.

THE ROLE

As a Housekeeping Attendant, you’ll help keep the entire hotel clean, cared for, and running smoothly. From public spaces and outdoor areas to laundry and guestroom support, you’ll be a hands-on member of the Housekeeping team who isn’t afraid to jump in wherever help is needed. You will:

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of hotel grounds, public areas, and common spaces
• Remove trash and cigarette butts from hotel grounds and keep outdoor areas looking their best
• Clean lobbies, hallways, walkways, railings, stairwells, and other high-traffic areas
• Clean exterior windows, guestroom doors, sliding glass doors, and other assigned areas
• Maintain pool furniture, ice and vending machines, public benches, exterior light fixtures, sand urns, and dumpster areas
• Run laundry and assist with distributing or handling linens as neededEmpty Housekeeping trash and support Room Attendants with daily housekeeping needs
• Shampoo carpets and turn mattresses as assigned
• Report maintenance concerns, damage, and missing or found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor
• Assist the Maintenance team with basic repairs, including minor plumbing and carpentry tasks
• Safely use approved cleaning products and equipment
• Communicate professionally and courteously with guests and fellow team members
• Support other departments and hotel team members wherever needed
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the property

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 1+ year of experience in housekeeping, hospitality, facilities, or a related role
• Basic cleaning skills and a strong eye for detail
• Basic maintenance skills are a plus
• Comfortable working across both indoor and outdoor areas of a hotel
• Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and use good judgment
• Comfortable working independently while supporting a larger team
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional approach with guests
• Dependable, hardworking, and willing to jump in wherever needed
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and work with approved cleaning agents
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed
• Ability to frequently walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently or use a dolly when needed
