Job summary

Freedom Village Holland is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain clean, comfortable apartments and common areas for residents in Holland, Michigan. You will follow supervisor instructions, prioritize tasks, and support a welcoming environment while handling cleaning duties, laundry, and safety protocols.

The position is full-time on the first shift with a $16.00-$17.00 hourly pay and a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping in apartments: vacuuming, bathroom/kitchen cleaning, dusting
• Clean hallways and common areas as directed
• Complete tasks in priority order set by supervisor
• Maintain equipment and supplies in proper condition
• Attend in-service training and education sessions
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Maintain resident confidentiality at all times

About the Role

• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of assigned apartments and common areas

Physical Requirements

• Moderate to heavy physical effort for most of the workday
• Stand and walk long distances (up to 8 hours/day)
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and stretching
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently
• Push/pull carts up to 100 lbs over various surfaces
• Operate vacuums and work in confined spaces
• Regular contact with residents
• Possible exposure to cleaning chemicals, odors, and communicable diseases
