Job summary

The Goodman Group, LLC in Portland, OR is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to support residents by performing daily housekeeping tasks, maintaining clean, safe living spaces, and following infection control procedures.

This role collaborates with nursing staff, adheres to safety guidelines, and contributes to Platinum Service standards that emphasize responsiveness and quality service to residents.

Qualifications

• Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Capable of working with ill, disabled and elderly residents.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort with office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping functions and tasks as assigned and follow established safety precautions and infection control procedures.
• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• Dispose of personal protective equipment in accordance with sanitation procedures.
• Ensure adequate supply of housekeeping supplies to perform daily tasks in utility/janitorial closets.
• Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Remove water marks from fixtures.
• Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
• Clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting; vacuum carpets.
• Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Clean hallways, stairways, elevators, and vacant rooms.
• Ensure that work areas and equipment are properly stored before breaks, mealtimes and end of day.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
