Job description

We are looking for housekeepers to join our existing team. You will play a key role in ensuring all areas of the hospital, including wards and other areas, are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and appearance.

We currently offer a range of exciting opportunities across different hospital areas with various part-time shift patterns, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights, as outlined below:

POST: 3.75 hours a week, 07:00 - 15:30

Main duties of the job

• Using modern and advanced cleaning equipment to ensure wards and patient areas are cleaned to high standards.
• Performing a full range of cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, and hydrogen peroxide vapour cleaning. All equipment is tested and selected by the existing housekeeping team.
• Some roles may require the use of specialist personal protective equipment.
• Preparing and serving patient meals and refreshments as part of a team.
• Following ward or department cleaning schedules.
• Diluting cleaning chemicals and following procedures mindful of COSHH regulations.
• Workload is flexible, with locations changing per shift, including wards and non-ward areas.

Working as part of a team with minimal supervision once fully trained.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Basic secondary education in English and Maths
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and COSHH regulations
• Knowledge of food handling and hygiene procedures
• NVQ Level 2 Support Services or equivalent
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Previous Experience

• Experience in housekeeping within a domestic or healthcare environment
• Customer Service training
