Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of your job position is to ensure housekeepers follow duties as outlined in their job description, as well as their own, for residents and staff in the nursing center and during special events, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and Solaris HealthCare’s policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that housekeepers clean patient bathrooms including sinks, toilets, tubs, and showers.
  • Ensure waste receptacles in patient rooms, bathrooms, activity areas, and other facility areas are emptied.
  • Ensure patient areas are clean, including mopping and/or buffing floors, dusting furniture both on top and underneath.
  • Ensure hallways are free of debris, mopped, stripped, and buffed following policies and procedures.
  • Clean walls, furniture, and equipment as needed to maintain a pleasant environment.
  • Follow safety procedures when using chemicals and train staff accordingly.
  • Establish and follow cleaning schedules.
  • Crosstrain staff for other duties like laundry, floor tech, and housemen.
  • Order supplies for housekeeping and laundry with approval from the Plant Operations Director or Assistant.
  • Prepare and post work schedules two weeks in advance.
  • Handle hiring, orientation, and termination processes under guidance.
  • Cover shifts when understaffed due to illness or other reasons.
